ARIA - DDS is a new methodology of sound processing, able to rebuild the dynamic freshness of the recorded music. With ARIA every sound in the mix will be pushed in evidence, reducing the sense of “flatness” we often meet in today's commercial recordings. ARIA allows to perceive the music structure and “groove” also at relative low volumes, where usually standard way of playback fails, sounding poor and uninteresting. ARIA is based on a special, patented algorithm, which recognizes and enhance the dinamic sound variations at the various audio spectrum frequency bands. Only quite fast variations and peaks are altered, following special rules: in this way the overall timbre is not changed as often happens in common exciters or dynamic expanders.

ARIA will be available in a DSP processor based hardware version: an OEM little board that can be inserted in amplifiers, amplified loudspeaker, CAR audio systems etc. ARIA can be easily implemented in a software-only version (it can be enclosed in advanced MP3 /CD players etc.).

"Years ago, during a DJ-set in a club, I casually found a graphic equalizer and a good spectrum analyzer near mixing desk. As a game, I started to move the equalization faders following the dynamic music spectrum. Immediately I found that this effect was very funny and, very important, it also appeared interesting to the audience. After some nights in that club I refined this simple technique:I was able to follow, with some special finger movements up to four spectrum bands. Also I found a natural limit to my variation range, so that the sound was more interesting but not too much altered. After this experience I had the idea of building a digital box for doing my trick in automatic way, so that much more bands could be followed, and with much more precision. Firstly I had to formalize what I did in that club in digital signal processing (DSP) algorithm: it was not that easy. Fortunately I found Massimo Magrini, a collaborator of the National Council of Research of Italy, expert in musical applications of DSP technology. He greatly helped me and after some months we had our first , working, prototype. Later the effect ash been greatly refined, moving from a "disco club" effect to a method for giving back to recordings that little, fast, spectrum variations that very often are lost during mixing and mastering, adding ARIA (air) to the music" (Gabriele Biagiotti, ex-DJ, DDS creator)

A preliminary version is now available as a Winamp plugin for Windows.
Download the demo here ,
unzip it and copy the dll into the Winamp plugin folder.
The demo works for 2 minutes, then the audio will be muted.
Ask us if you want to get the full version.
